Fastweb (, the leading website for scholarship and financial aid information and a member of the Monster Worldwide network, kicked off the Student Contributor program for the new school year. The program, in its 3rd year, brings the insight of high school and college students to Fastweb’s members through relevant articles focusing on today’s issues.

The Student Contributor program includes a dozen student writers who will address topics such as the college admissions process, standardized testing, study tips, college coursework, student life experiences, and applying for scholarships. Mark Nelson, Fastweb’s Director stated, “we’re proud and excited to kick off another year of our Student Contributors program. Our goal is always to offer students the best tools and information available to help them with the difficult decisions related to their education and what better way to do that than with content authored by others who are going through the same experiences they are.”

An outreach campaign was conducted in June 2014 to find this year’s contributors. Fastweb members specifying an English, Writing, or Journalism major were notified of the opportunity to write for Fastweb. Interested students were asked to provide a brief personal summary as well as provide a 250-word writing sample on a topic relating to their experience with the scholarship, financial aid, or admission process.

The 2014 team selected includes four returning contributors, college students, Laura Magerkurth, Alison Graham, Jamie Vincent and high school student Maya Moritz. They will be joined this year by college students, McKenzie Nevins, Sabrina McPherson, Samantha Starkey and high school students, Francesca Kavalir, Christina Alfaro, Bailey VanNatta, Brady Keane and Kaitlyn Specht.
