Cirrus Logic, Inc. (Nasdaq: CRUS), an Austin-based semiconductor company, was named one of the top 10 employers on 2014’s 50 Best Small and Medium Workplaces in America by the Great Place to Work(R) Institute. Cirrus Logic has been recognized on the list for the past four years and was ranked No. 9 on this year’s annual list, which was published today in FORTUNE(R) and distinguishes companies that have exceptional workplace cultures.

“Cirrus Logic’s unique corporate culture is the secret to retaining happy employees and attracting innovative people who strengthen our workforce,” said Jo-Dee Benson, vice president and chief culture officer, Cirrus Logic. “Cirrus Logic continues to build strong core values based on trust, integrity and camaraderie and we are honored to be recognized as one of the top 10 companies to work for in America.”

Cirrus Logic was selected to participate in a comprehensive audit, which includes an in-depth employee survey about the company’s corporate culture, employee programs and practices. The Great Place to Work Institute then evaluates each application using its unique and rigorous methodology based on credibility, respect, fairness, pride and camaraderie.

Cirrus Logic fosters a culture of continuous improvement, with regular employee feedback directly contributing to new programs and services. Noted for being a family-friendly company emphasizing the work/life balance, Cirrus Logic also provides its employees with generous personal time off, competitive salary and bonus programs, personal and professional development training, and outstanding health and welfare benefit programs.

The company also provides numerous on- and off-site benefits including monthly “Cirrus Rocks!” concerts featuring local Austin musicians, weekly happy hours, a company picnic at Schlitterbahn Waterpark, kids holiday events, health and wellness classes and physical fitness training. In addition, employees share time together while giving back to the community through volunteer projects such as Habitat for Humanity and cleaning up the neighboring Shoal Creek. Employees provide various additional contributions to Health Alliance for Austin Musicians, the PBS affiliate KLRU, American Red Cross and the Blood Center of Central Texas, just to name a few.

“The work of these companies is quite impressive,” said China Gorman, CEO of Great Place to Work. “They provide an example that others can look to, to see what kind of outstanding workplace is possible-regardless of size, industry or other circumstances. For example, the growth that many of these companies are experiencing is tremendous, and they are paying close attention to culture every step of the way. This focus on a strong cultural foundation will help pave the way for continued success as they serve their employees and their customers.”
