Acxiom Launches Program to Leverage its Data Power for Community Wellness
Acxiom(R) (NASDAQ:ACXM) , an enterprise data, analytics and software-as-a-service company, today announced a company-wide program to unlock the power of data to bring relief to pressing community challenges associated with health, education and humanitarian aid.
AcxiomData4Good will leverage Acxiom’s leadership in marketing data and analytics, and bring to bear broad technology assets and talent acumen to assist with some of society’s most critical challenges. Inspired by its long-time commitment to the ethical use of data, the company will dedicate data and services equivalent to approximately one percent of its annual revenue for the benefit of meaningful public causes.
“Our goal is to continuously increase our commitment to the ethical use of data”, said Acxiom CEO Scott Howe. “For four decades, we’ve been the experts in data, and we are aware this creates a leadership responsibility for us. We launched the first-ever consumer portal, AboutTheData.com, just over a year ago, and we recently announced a partnership with Better Business Bureau called “Digital IQ” to broaden consumers’ knowledge around the use of data. Today, we are taking yet another step forward to unlock the power of data for a better world, and we encourage the industry to follow suit”.
Acxiom’s Data4Good program will reach out to certain charitable and non-profit organizations to offer a full range of services at no charge for one year or the time needed to ensure joint programs can deliver meaningful results. Upon acceptance of the offer, Acxiom will work with marketing and fund-raising departments in selected organizations to perform a diagnostic designed to determine the best way to help them to accomplish their marketing goals around fundraising and donors’ programs.
Acxiom has already begun working with a global charitable organization to update its supporters’ contact information as well as with a major health research institute to use anonymized data to determine correlations between certain demographics and incidences of cancer.
