Pfister(R) Makes a Statement in Slate Faucet Finish

Gray is having quite a year. The shade had a strong presence on fashion runways in fall 20131, was named one of the top 10 women’s fashion Pantone colors in spring 2014,2 and, according to a survey of more than 420 kitchen and bath design professionals conducted by the National Kitchen and Bath Association (NKBA), it is predicted to be the fastest-growing color scheme in the home in 2014.3

The neutral quality that has made gray popular in fashion has helped quickly strengthen its presence in the home. Pfister(R) Faucets has been a leader of the gray trend, announcing the expansion of its Slate-finish lineup with the new Slate Priv’e pull-out kitchen faucet and Slate Pasadena bath faucet and accessories. The new offerings join Pfister’s Pasadena pull-down kitchen faucet in Slate that was introduced in July 2014.

“Slate can assume the look of a room, whether the space’s style is contemporary, transitional or traditional,” said Darin Heuer, group marketing manager with Pfister Faucets. “Depicted in faucets and accessories, it adds a nice layer of drama to a kitchen or bathroom, without being overpowering.”

The expansion of the premium finish into the bathroom was prompted by the success of the Slate Pasadena kitchen faucet, and the fact that many consumers’ kitchen color preferences hold true in the bathroom. Consumers can now choose Pasadena bath faucets and accessories-Pfister’s best-selling lavatory collection-in Slate.

“Consumers want a faucet finish that conveys today’s color trends while complementing stainless steel and the wide spectrum of hues present throughout their home,” said Brian Schaadt, senior product manager with Pfister Faucets. “We’ve noticed matte finishes in a variety of consumer home products lately-from flooring to wall paint-and felt the understated look could be executed in faucets as well.”

Relative to other Slate offerings for the home, such as appliances from GE, decorative items and furnishings, Pfister’s Slate is a dark gray faucet finish with stainless highlighting. The Slate tone has been tranSlated into the brand’s familiar brushed faucet texture, resulting in a subtle difference that makes the transition from stainless to Slate easier for consumers.

To help maintain the beauty of Slate’s innovative matte surface that resists the daily build-up of fingerprints and water spots, Pfister’s Slate offerings feature Pfinish GuardTM protective coating.

Pfister faucets and accessories in Slate are exclusively sold at The Home Depot.

Pasadena Slate kitchen faucets include the pull-down kitchen faucet (F529PDSL) with an MSRP of $188 and bar/prep (F072PDSL) with an MSRP of $138. The Priv’e pull-out kitchen faucet (F5347PVSL) has an MSRP of $148 and will be available in November.

Pasadena Slate bath faucets and accessories include a 4-inch center set faucet with an MSRP of $88, and 8-inch widespread faucet with an MSRP of $119, tub and shower faucet with an MSRP of $128, 18-inch towel bar with an MSRP of $32.98, 24-inch towel bar with an MSRP of $34.98, robe hook for an MSRP of $16.98, towel ring with an MSRP of $20.98 and toilet paper holder with an MSRP of $27.98.
