Books-A-Million, Inc. (NASDAQ:BAMM) , one of the nation’s leading bookstores, announced today its top picks for fall releases. Senior Fiction Buyer, Margaret Terwey, handpicked each title for Books-A-Million customers to enjoy this autumn season.

“There’s something for everyone on this list,” Terwey said. “When I pick titles to recommend to our customers, my hope is that a reader will connect with a new author. Of course, the favorites are here, too. You can’t go wrong with Stephen King or Jodi Picoult. Each of these stories is so compelling-the perfect companion to any fall day.”

First on the list is David Mitchell’s Bone Clocks, which follows teenage Holly Sykes as she runs away from home. But Holly is no typical teenage runaway: A sensitive child once contacted by voices she knew only as “the radio people,” Holly is a lightning rod for psychic phenomena. Now, as she wanders deeper into the English countryside, visions and coincidences reorder her reality until they assume the aura of a nightmare brought to life.

For fans of epic family dramas, The Story of Land and Sea by Katy Simpson Smith explores three generations in a North Carolina coastal town. In this elegant, evocative, and haunting debut, Simpson Smith captures the singular love between parent and child, the devastation of love lost, and the desperate paths we travel in the name of renewal.

If you like nonfiction that reads like a well-spun fictional yarn, there are a couple of those on the list. One of the greatest Southern storytellers of our time, “New York Times” bestselling author Rick Bragg, tracks down one the greatest rock and rollers of all time, Jerry Lee Lewis, and gets his own story-straight from the source in Jerry Lee Lewis: His Own History. Then we have, from the author of Steve Jobs, Innovators by Walter Isaacson. This nonfiction pick tells the story of the people behind the creation of the computer and the Internet.

The complete Top 10 includes:

  1. Bone Clocks by David Mitchell
  2. Story of Land and Sea by Katy Simpson Smith
  3. Slow Regard of Silent Things by Patrick Rothfuss
  4. Revival by Stephen King
  5. Jerry Lee Lewis by Rick Bragg
  6. Innovators by Walter Isaacson
  7. Edge of Eternity by Ken Follett
  8. Leaving Time by Jodi Picoult
  9. You by Caroline Kepnes
  10. Long Way Home by Penny Louise
