Nominee Voting Opens for PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2015

The People’s Choice Awards, the only major awards show where fans determine the nominees and winners across categories of movies, music and television, has announced that voting to determine the nominees is now officially open at Fans can vote to ensure their favorites are nominated across 54 categories including “Favorite Movie,” “Favorite TV Show” and “Favorite Breakout Artist” until Thursday, October 30, 2014 (11:59 PM, ET).

The top five in each category will become the official nominees and will be announced during the annual People’s Choice Awards Press Conference on Tuesday, November 4, 2014 (9:00 AM, PT) at The Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills. Fans have the option to write in their favorites not included among the provided candidates.

In People’s Choice tradition, fans were given the opportunity to choose brand new categories for the 2015 show. This year, the fans selected to add “Favorite TV Character We Miss Most,” “Favorite Dramedy” and “Favorite Country Group” to the list of official categories. “Favorite TV Icon” was additionally added to the pool of categories for the first time, honoring TV personalities who have graced the small screen for 25 years.

This year, the People’s Choice Awards welcomes back Walgreens as its official retail partner. Once again, Walgreens will present the People’s Choice Award for “Favorite Humanitarian,” which reflects the company’s purpose to champion everyone’s right to be happy and healthy. The award, previously given to Sandra Bullock in 2013 and Jennifer Hudson in 2014, will be presented during the live broadcast on January 7, 2015.

PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARDS 2015 will be broadcast LIVE from the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on Wednesday, January 7, 2015 (9:00-11:00 PM, ET/delayed PT), on the CBS Television Network.

Now in its 41st year, the People’s Choice Awards is the only major awards show voted on entirely by the public for fan favorites in movies, music and television. The People’s Choice official website at houses the voting platform where fans determine the categories, nominees and winners for the annual awards show. Every year, potential nominees are determined by national ratings averages, box-office grosses, music sales and data, then vetted through EPoll Market Research. Fred Nelson is the President of People’s Choice, and Mark Burnett and Jane Mun are the Executive Producers of the awards show. The awards show, and digital, mobile and social extensions of the brand are owned by Procter & Gamble, and produced by United Artist Media Group (UAMG) a joint venture among MGM, Mark Burnett, Roma Downey and Hearst Corporation.
