ICF International (NASDAQ:ICFI) , a leading provider of consulting services and technology solutions to government and commercial clients, has been awarded a re-compete task order by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) under an indefinite delivery/indefinite quantity contract issued by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The task order has a value of $18.5 million and a term of one base and four option years.

Under this task order, ICF will continue to support SAMHSA’s Center for Mental Health Services’ Suicide Prevention Branch in evaluating its suicide prevention programs on a national level. Specifically, ICF will support the design, implementation and dissemination of findings for two of its largest funded programs: the Garrett Lee Smith Youth Suicide Prevention and Early Intervention Program, which targets youths and young adults ages 10-24 in states, tribes and territories and on college campuses; and the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline crisis hotline program. In addition, ICF will support evaluation capacity building and infrastructure development around one of the agency’s newest suicide prevention programs, Native Connections, which is designed to prevent and reduce suicidal behavior and substance abuse and promote mental health among American Indian/Alaska Native populations.

“SAMHSA’s commitment to suicide prevention has increased substantially over the years and ICF has been involved in evaluating its programs since 2005,” said Christine Walrath, vice president for ICF International. “We are thrilled to continue to work with the Suicide Prevention Branch, and in partnership with renowned leaders in the field of suicide prevention, to evaluate, identify and promote best life-saving interventions and practices.”
