Dollar General Celebrates Military Service Members, Veterans and Their Families This Veterans’ Day
This Veterans’ Day, Dollar General will offer active duty service members, veterans and their family members a special 11 percent discount on all qualifying purchases made in store and online as a way to recognize and celebrate their service on Tuesday, November 11, 2014.
“Dollar General is honored to recognize Veterans’ Day by giving back to those who have served and continue to serve our country,” said Dave D’Arezzo, Dollar General’s executive vice president and chief merchandising officer. “As part of our mission of Serving Others, we are committed to helping service men and women stretch their budgets and celebrate savings as a way to thank them for the time and commitment to our country.”
Dollar General will also recognize and honor the military community by bringing attention to the Paychecks for Patriots program with a special decal on the c-post of the No. 20 Dollar General Camry, driven by Matt Kenseth in the Sprint Cup Series on Nov. 9 and the No. 51 Dollar General Toyota Tundra, driven by Erik Jones in the Camping World Truck Series on Nov. 7.
Paychecks for Patriots is an innovative partnership between state governments and employers to address veteran and National Guard unemployment challenges. This successful program was created by Dollar General in partnership with state employment agencies to create a pathway toward economic opportunity for veterans and their families both online and through hiring fairs.
