Health Care REIT, Inc. Announces Pricing of lb500 Million of Sterling Denominated Senior Unsecured Notes

Health Care REIT, Inc. (NYSE:HCN) today announced that the company has priced lb500 million in aggregate principal amount of 4.50% senior unsecured notes due December 1, 2034. The notes were priced at 98.843% of their face amount to yield 4.538%. Subject to customary closing conditions, this offering is expected to close on November 25, 2014.

The company intends to use the net proceeds from this offering to repay advances under its primary unsecured credit facility, if any, and for general corporate purposes, including investing in health care and seniors housing properties. Pending such use, the net proceeds may be invested in short-term, investment grade, interest-bearing securities, certificates of deposit or indirect or guaranteed obligations of the United States.

Deutsche Bank AG, London Branch, Barclays Bank PLC, The Royal Bank of Scotland plc, UBS Limited and Wells Fargo Securities, LLC are serving as joint book-running managers for this offering.
