Huntington Bank has agreed to become an Apple PayTM partner and will offer customers the service in early 2015, the bank announced today. Apple Pay is a new category of service that is transforming mobile payments with an easy, secure and private way to pay. It can be used at more than 220,000 stores and restaurants.

“We are delighted to soon offer our customers the option of Apple Pay,” said Mark Sheehan, executive vice president and payments and channels director at Huntington. “Apple Pay is another in a series of initiatives Huntington has undertaken to make banking easier, along with rolling out mobile deposit and Quick Balance, which allows customers to use their phones or tablets to find their balances fast. Huntington is excited about what the future holds and looks forward to bringing this technology to our customers.”

Apple Pay will allow Huntington customers to store and use their Huntington VOICE Credit CardTM and/or Huntington debit card in a digital, tokenized form with the new iPhone(R) 6 and iPhone(R) 6 Plus. Apple Pay allows users to make in-store and in-app purchases with a single touch of the finger using Touch IDTM. In addition, paying with Apple Pay is private as the cashier never sees your name, card numbers or security code.
