Leading U.S. toymaker JAKKS Pacific, Inc. (Nasdaq: JAKK) announced today that it has secured a licensing agreement for multiple product categories based on the popular video game “Halo” published by Microsoft Studios. The agreement grants JAKKS worldwide rights to produce large-scale action figures based on the “Halo” property, including the upcoming “Halo 5: Guardians” title debuting in Fall 2015. Additionally, Disguise, Inc., the Halloween costume division of JAKKS Pacific, has secured a licensing agreement to manufacture “Halo” branded costumes and accessories for both children and adults for distribution to all retail channels in North America, Latin America and the United Kingdom.

“We are thrilled to add the iconic ‘Halo’ franchise to our robust portfolio of licenses,” said Tara Hefter, Vice President Licensing, JAKKS Pacific. “We are eager to showcase the ‘Halo’ property in our large scale figures line, which features the best in blockbuster action entertainment licenses, and create exciting new ways for fans to experience ‘Halo’ through innovative costumes that are authentic to the brand.”

“I’ve always felt that people want heroes to admire, but every kid – and adult – I know, wants to be the hero. And the two best ways to be that hero, in my opinion, are to play video games featuring them, or dress up as them. Our partnership with JAKKS Pacific combines the best of both worlds and enhances that role playing, whether for fun, play or parties,” said Frank O’Connor, Franchise Development Director of 343 Industries.

The new “Halo” costumes from Disguise are scheduled to be available at retailers nationwide for the 2015 Halloween season. The new large-scale “Halo” figures from JAKKS are scheduled to be available in Fall 2015.

About the Halo Franchise

The “Halo” franchise is an award-winning collection of properties that have transcended video games and grown into a global entertainment phenomenon. Beginning with the original “Halo: Combat Evolved” (2001), the critically acclaimed and record-shattering series of games has reinvented how people think about video games and has since built a fan base of millions worldwide and inspired multiple New York Times best-selling novels, a live-action digital series, comic books, action figures, apparel and more.

Published by Microsoft Studios, the “Halo” franchise of games is exclusive to Xbox platforms, Windows 8 PCs, tablets, and Windows Phone 8 devices. To date, more than 60 million copies of “Halo” games have been sold worldwide, driving nearly over 6 billion hours of gameplay by fans connected to Xbox Live.
