Gerstein Fisher, an investment management firm specializing in multi-factor investing, today announced that the Gerstein Fisher Multi-Factor(R) International Growth Equity Fund (GFIGX) celebrated its three-year anniversary on January 27th and received a Five-Star Overall Morningstar RatingTM. This rating, the highest possible from Morningstar, is based on risk-adjusted total return versus 292 Funds in the Foreign Large Growth Category as of the end of January 2015.

Morningstar rates mutual funds from 1 to 5 stars based on how well they’ve performed after adjusting for risk and accounting for sales charges, in comparison to similar funds.

“International equities have always been important from a diversification and portfolio construction perspective, and we believe our Multi-Factor(R) approach offers the best potential for explainable, sustainable, long-term results,” said Gregg S. Fisher, Lead Portfolio Manager of Gerstein Fisher Funds. “We are proud of our process and the performance of not only GFIGX, but our two other Multi-Factor(R) funds as well.”

About Morningstar Ratings

For each fund with at least a three-year history, Morningstar calculates a Morningstar RatingTM based on a Morningstar Risk-Adjusted Return measure that accounts for variation in a fund’s monthly performance (including the effects of sales charges, loads, and redemption fees), placing more emphasis on downward variations and rewarding consistent performance.

The top 10% of funds in each category receive 5 stars, the next 22.5% receive 4 stars, the next 35% receive 3 stars, the next 22.5% receive 2 stars and the bottom 10% receive 1 star. (Each share class is counted as a fraction of one fund within this scale and rated separately, which may cause slight variations in the distribution percentages.) The Overall Morningstar RatingTM for a fund is derived from a weighted average of the performance figures associated with its three-, five- and ten-year (if applicable) Morningstar Rating metrics.
