Rocket Fuel Appoints Former Salesforce Executive Randy Wootton as Chief Revenue Officer

Rocket Fuel Inc. (NASDAQ:FUEL) , a leading provider of artificial intelligence (AI) advertising and marketing solutions for global agencies and brands, today announced that Randy Wootton has been appointed as the company’s first Chief Revenue Officer. Randy joins Rocket Fuel with more than two decades of experience in major leadership roles at both media and enterprise businesses. He has achieved substantial revenue growth and led transformative sales, customer service, and operations organizations for market leaders including Salesforce and Microsoft, as well as aQuantive’s AtlasDMT, one of the first-ever ad serving platforms.

As Rocket Fuel shifts from a tech-powered media business to a media-powered tech business, Randy will serve a vital role in this ongoing transformation as he deepens customer relationships within agencies and enterprise marketers. Already, Rocket Fuel has seen increasing demand for its combined DMPDSP capabilities, and in Q4 of 2014 it was named a Visionary by Gartner in its assessment of Digital Marketing Hubs.

Randy was most recently VP of Customer Success Products at Salesforce, where he grew its Services Product Portfolio and P&L from $200 million to almost $500 million in three years and successfully led the major overhaul of the Salesforce Customer Success Products product management, marketing, and sales-enablement strategies. He also served in a variety of executive sales positions over the course of six years at Microsoft, including building out its Global Search Services Operations as part of the Yahoo!-Microsoft Search Alliance. He was SVP of Sales, Service and Marketing for AdReady, a cloud platform company focused on mid-market display advertising, and Director of Business Development at aQuantive, where he led the international division of Atlas Solutions, securing 30% market share in the UK in fewer than two years. Randy graduated from the United States Naval Academy and has an MBA from Harvard Business School. He served in the U.S. Navy, and now volunteers in a range of youth-focused organizations.
