DeVry Education Group (NYSE:DV) , a global provider of educational services, is accepting applications from startups interested in joining the second cohort of DV X Labs, its education technology incubator at 1871, Chicago’s entrepreneurial hub for digital startups.

Startups accepted into DV X Labs will receive access to educational leaders across DeVry Group’s eight institutions, which include DeVry University and its Keller Graduate School of Management, and Chamberlain College of Nursing. In addition to mentorship, coaching and feedback to help improve their products, startups in the ed tech incubator will also have the opportunity to become long-term DeVry Group partners.

“We are excited to continue our work with a variety of startups to bring innovative educational technologies to the classroom,” said Jeff Dunn, senior director of research and development at DeVry Education Group. “The diversity of DeVry Group’s educational offerings allows us to prototype new technologies across a range of academic needs.”

DeVry Group plans to recruit three to five startups for the second cohort, each focused on a specific domain or student challenge. These companies will join inaugural cohort members CENTURY-Tech (London); The SmartyPants App (Los Angeles); Youtopia (Chicago); and YuJa (San Jose, California). Like the first cohort of companies accepted to DV X Labs, new startups will be considered along a spectrum of criteria, including the originality of their approaches to teaching, learning and improving student outcomes.

As part of its commitment to the ed tech incubator and to 1871, DeVry Group will offer business education workshops to help these startups grow and succeed, and events to engage Chicago’s community of higher-education experts.
