Sam’s Club will open its newest club in Austin this Thursday, April 16. The doors will officially open following an 8 a.m. grand opening ceremony at the club located at 10901 Lakeline Mall Drive.

The grand opening celebration will focus on the company’s commitment to the local community. Sam’s Club associates selected several Austin-area organizations to receive $16,000 in community giving grants. In the last fiscal year, Sam’s Club, and parent company Walmart, gave more than $111 million to non-profits in the state of Texas. The following local organizations will be presented checks during a special VIP night prior to the public grand opening on Wednesday, April 15 from 4 to 5:00 p.m.

  • Cedar Park Library
  • American Legion Hunter-Morris Memorial Post #911
  • Minorities for Equality in Employment, Education, Liberty and Justice, Inc.
  • Meals on Wheels of Burnet Counties
  • Wildlife Revealed
  • Williamson County Humane Society

“Sam’s Club is committed to the communities we serve and that means supporting organizations that are important to our associates and members,” said Club Manager Maurice May. “The great thing about our grant giving program is our local associates are involved in the selection process.”

Grand Opening ceremony features local officials, special events

The Cedar Park Chamber of Commerce and representatives from Meals on Wheels of Burnet and Williamson Counties will be among those in attendance at Thursday’s grand opening ceremony. The Vista Ridge ROTC will present colors and local talent Mariah Winder will perform the National Anthem.
