Voting for the 2015 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby Fan’s Choice Award is now open, TD Ameritrade Holding Corporation and Intersport announced today. This annual award, now in its fourth year, recognizes college baseball players for their inspiring accomplishments on and off the baseball field.

The 18 finalists selected for this year’s award each demonstrate leadership and commitment in all aspects of life, stay active in their community, are dedicated in the classroom and inspire the will to win among those around them.

The winner will be determined by fans through Facebook voting and will be honored at the 2015 TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby. Fans can view profiles of the finalists and vote daily by visiting www.fanschoiceaward.com.

The 2015 TD Ameritrade Fan’s Choice Award finalists are:

JOE GIACCHINO (Delaware); ROB SHIPMAN (Mount Olive); KEVIN WORTMAN (Florida Tech); AARON MIZELL (Georgia Southern); BRENNAN LEITAO (Sacramento State); TANNER LUBACH (Nebraska); ERIC TOOLE (Iowa); DAVID BERG (UCLA); ANDREW GUILLOTTE (McNeese State); TIM CAPUTO (Rhode Island); ADAM BOGHOSIAN (North Greenville); RONNIE GLENN (UPenn); MICHAEL JURGELLA (St. Cloud State); LOGAN DOMENICO (Oral Roberts); GARRETT RUCKEL (Jacksonville); BRONSON CLARK (West Virginia Wesleyan); ALEX ROBERTS (Newberry College); MATT MCCLAIN (St. Mary’s, TX).

The TD Ameritrade Fan’s Choice Award is the only college baseball award determined solely by fans. There are three rounds of voting: Round One opens today and ends June 8 when the top 12 vote getters move on to Round Two. The field will then be reduced to the top four vote getters on June 15. Round Three voting will end and TD Ameritrade will officially announce the winner June 22. The winner also will be honored at the TD Ameritrade College Home Run Derby in Omaha, Neb., on July 2.

Pat Wiese, of Le Moyne College in Syracuse, NY, was the 2014 TD Ameritrade Fan’s Choice winner. In 2013, Pat was diagnosed with a form of bone cancer in his leg. After surgery and chemotherapy, he was unable to reach the field, but he remained a strong part of the team as its captain. Since then, Pat and his family have established the Pat Wiese Foundation in hopes of supporting others fighting the battle against cancer.

In 2013, prior to his illness, Wiese earned all NE-10 Conference honors and All-Regional honors. That year, he led the team in hitting, runs, stolen bases and on-base percentage. Wiese was also involved in Special Olympics, reading at elementary schools near Le Moyne and was part of the Le Moyne leadership group. He received a Dean’s Scholarship to attend Le Moyne and was on the Dean’s List his freshman year.
