LifeLock Announces Neil Daswani As Chief Information Security Officer
LifeLock, Inc. (NYSE:LOCK) , a leading provider of proactive identity theft protection services, announced that Neil Daswani has joined the company as chief information security officer. Daswani joins LifeLock from Twitter, where he led initiatives to mitigate information security, malware, and ads-related risks to the company.
Schwark Satyavolu, executive vice president of product and technology at LifeLock, said, “With Neil, we’re getting leadership to help navigate emerging threats and adding expertise to our strategic partnerships with other organizations.” Satyavolu continued, “As someone who has worked with Neil previously, I know that his technical expertise and forward looking thinking on threats across the internet industry will be a great complement to the LifeLock business strategy.”
As chief information security officer, Daswani will oversee the protection of LifeLock’s information assets, and be responsible for security architecture, operations, and compliance across LifeLock’s network. In doing so, he will help fulfill the company’s core mission to protect its members, and protect the company from evolving cyber threats.
“In today’s digital world, we need to make security a top priority to address cyber-criminal threats, and make sure that security is embedded in every aspect of our business,” said Daswani. “I’m looking forward to working with the LifeLock team to help protect our members and our business.”
Previously, Daswani co-founded and served as CTO of Dasient, Inc., a Google Ventures-backed internet security company that Twitter acquired in 2012. He has held a variety of research, development, teaching, and managerial positions at Google, Stanford University, Yodlee, and Telcordia Technologies. Daswani was the lead author of “Foundations of Security: What Every Programmer Needs To Know” and has been granted over one dozen US patents. Daswani holds a doctorate and a master’s degree in computer science from Stanford University, and a bachelor’s degree in computer science from Columbia University.
