Jarratt began as a retail trader and just like most of his students had no prior experience or qualifications related to trading financial markets. Most of his skills came as a result of self teaching and experience in the markets, along with some very important lessons learned from seasoned traders he met along the way.
Once he started to implement the correct methods and trade in line with the core principles that every other professional trader uses he began to find consistent profits and was eventually head hunted into a small start up hedge fund based in Hong Kong.
After six months trading here he was granted his first $1 million account and was quickly promoted to the head of FX based on his trading performance. He left the fund in 2010 to trade his own account and those of a few private clients.
In 2012 he decided to expand his managed accounts business via his current investment company, SMILe Global Management, through which he now manages clients funds and works with his trading team to constantly improve trading performance. SMILe are one of the very few FX managed account businesses to be both based in the city of London and regulated by the FCA in the UK, to manage clients money.
They are part of the IPM group who manage over $250 million worth of assets for clients around the world.
He is now one of the only regulated Forex fund managers to share his Forex trading techniques with retail traders and is currently ranked as the second best performing Forex trader in the world by the ‘Barclay currency traders Index’ for the period between 2008 – 2013.
He is also a very popular contributor to financial press and has been featured in many places including Bloomberg and the Wall Street Journal.
