    US construction spending declined unexpectedly in November, as weaker government outlays and business spending more than offset a moderate increase in private construction. The value of construction put in place declined 0.3 percent to $975.0 billion in November, following an upwardly revised gain of 1.2 percent in October, the Commerce Department reported today in Washington.
